Who Is Patricia L. Tillman?

Patricia L. Tillman is a lifelong Illinoisan, community advocate, and business owner whose life’s work has been dedicated to serving others. Born and raised in the close-knit Morgan Park community of Chicago, Patricia has spent decades empowering families, seniors, and children across the state through hands-on leadership, compassion, and a deep belief in service.

Patricia’s journey reflects both perseverance and purpose. She served on the Board of Directors for StreetWise Illinois, a newspaper designed to provide employment and independence for people facing homelessness. Working alongside leaders such as Congressman Danny K. Davis and Alderman Manuel Flores, Patricia helped raise over $250,000 to preserve this vital resource for those most in need.

A proud member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) and former member of SEIU, Patricia has stood shoulder to shoulder with working men and women, advocating for fair wages, safer workplaces, and stronger communities. As the owner of Lynn MJJ + K Construction, she knows firsthand the challenges and rewards of small business ownership and the importance of creating jobs that sustain local families.

Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia has been a caregiver for seniors and veterans, a mentor to youth, and an active volunteer for food distribution and special-needs programs. She served on the Local School Council and the Parent Advisory Committee at Morgan Park High School, helping ensure that students and parents have a voice in their educational experience.
